TURNING THE PAGE
Laura Rathe Fine Art announces Turning the Page, an exciting group exhibition featuring new works from the gallery’s roster of esteemed contemporary artists. The opening reception will be held on Thursday, February 25th from 5-8pm at their River Oaks District gallery (4444 Westheimer).
We all face changes every day- whether big or small, our lives are fragmented by a series of beginnings and ends. Art brings these incongruent pieces back together, providing the source of joy and beauty that we all need in order to start anew. Turning the Page presents a group of artists united by a simple theme- paper. Whether handsome or challenging, striking or subdued, their works of art are the product of their unique imaginative process, taking paper- ordinary and mundane, and giving it a new life. Monumental totems of vintage yearbook pages, cakes scrawled onto recycled paper sacks, and hand-folded wall sculptures that shift with the eye- just a few of the ways in which artists continue to break boundaries and inspire all who view their work. Together, this spectacular group provides the fresh energy and life needed to turn the page and begin a new year.
Turning the Page will be on display through April 4, 2020.
