Dallas Design District gallery, Laura Rathe Fine Art (LRFA), announces a solo exhibition featuring new works by Texas artist, Meredith Pardue. LRFA will be hosting the opening reception on Saturday, November 17th from 5:00-8:00pm with an artist talk at 6:45pm, moderated by gallery owner, Laura Rathe.

Pardue’s newest body of work was inspired by the lyrical poetry of Jimi Hendrix. When listening to his classic song “Bold as Love”, she noticed how Hendrix tells a story using color - “fiery greens”, “happy turquoises” and “confident reds” are now expressions of human emotion illustrated through song.  As a painter, Pardue couldn’t help but beg the question: “What would sound look like on a canvas? What would a musical arrangement look like as one of my paintings?”.

Her answer lies within this body of work that she describes as “explosive, unrestrained and visually orchestral”, both in the creative process and aesthetic of each painting. Pardue has personified these melodic acoustics that seemingly explode onto the canvas through striking contrasts of color, ranging from black and white to outrageous jewel tones, rendering each and every piece as bold as love.

The exhibition will be on view through November 10th, 2017.
