Cosmicopia: Meredith Pardue

Laura Rathe Fine Art announces Cosmicopia, a solo exhibition featuring Meredith Pardue’s latest body of work. LRFA will be hosting the opening reception on Saturday, April 6th from 6:00-9:00pm at 2707 Colquitt St., Houston, TX.

Cosmicopiais a combination of two words: cosmic ("of or relating to the cosmos"), and cornucopia ("an inexhaustible store"). Though truly impossible, through paint and two dimensions, in Cosmicopia Pardue explores the unfathomable vastness of the cosmos and all that our universe contains.

In the artist’s words “Nebulae, heavenly bodies, forces, galaxies, movement, space, time, and energy — all from my minuscule, human perspective from earth — things that I cannot comprehend. I have always found comfort in my comparatively insignificant existence in the context of all that is, while at the same time standing in childlike wonder and awe that the miracle of my short, but precious life—and all earthly life—exists at all.”

Cosmicopia’ will be on display through May 11, 2019.
