Seitz is a tonal, contemporary landscape artist living in the Dallas area. He uses acrylic glazing techniques (20-30 layers) over gold or silver leaf foregrounds on textured canvas. Colors are blended on the canvas, not the pallet. Over time, he has become known for the mystical skies he creates. He fell in love with art in the third grade and that love affair has continued throughout his life. He has traveled extensively throughout his life, living in the Middle East and South East Asia for many years. His subject matter comes from a blend of memories over time (from the deserts and mountains of Iran to the misty jungles of New Guinea and Borneo). Even in these remote locations, he always carried ink and watercolor to capture local culture and landscapes.
